Born in Barranquilla, Colombia, into a musical family, Ms. Rojas begin playing the violin at age 10, mainly focusing on classical music. She later shifted her musical interest to electric and acoustic bass, and enrolled in the Jazz Performance Studies Program at the Javeriana University in Bogotá, Colombia. In 2011 she moved to Boston, MA and entered the Contemporary Writing and Production Program at Berklee College of Music where she has developed into a multifaceted musician. In 2013, she won the Outstanding Performer/Learner Award and was selected by Berklee's International Programs department to assembly a group of students to tour the main cities in Colombia as part of a two-week teaching and performing series sponsored by the Colombian/American Bi-national Centers.

In the Fall 2013, Ms. Rojas was chosen to be co-arranger, co-producer, musical director, and bassist for Alejandro Sanz’s performance at the Latin Grammy Gala in Las Vegas (Nevada). In 2014, she led a group of musicians to represent Berklee at the Next Generation Festival in Monterrey (CA), and was the arranger, musical director, and bassist for The Future of the Americas Summit by Clinton Foundation in Miami (FL). As well, Ms. Rojas was chosen as Berklee’s famous poster´s face and was awarded the Henry Schniewind Scholarship.

Ms. Rojas is currently completing her final semester of her Degree program and most recently she was selected to be the student musical director/arranger/and bassist for the most representative artist of Colombian traditional music, the legendary Totó La Momposina, which performed at the BPC in the Fall 2015. 

Esther met Nella Rojas and Eduardo Mercuri at Berklee in 2013 and together with them formed "3 Sudacas", a trio that fusions Latin American rhythms with pop and jazz influences. They are currently working in their first album "Tarde de abril".

Esther ́s performance style combines the influences of Colombian traditional music, rhythm and blues, Latin pop, salsa, timba, Brazilian, and jazz. She is a creative and solid performer with a strong focus on the groove and feel of many different musical styles.
